ABM Innova!

I don't know if you've heard the buzz about the ABM Innova quilting machines by ABM International or not, but let me tell you....they are wonderful!

Define "wonderful" is what my mother would say, so here goes:

ABM has been making commercial quilting machines for 70 years and now they've turned to the home quilting market. They offer 18" and a 26" throat machines on 8', 10', or 12' aluminum frames, all at the same cost for whatever size frame you order. If you want a 14' frame, that is available also, at an additional charge.

The timing mechanism is separate from the hopping foot, the stitch regulator lets you actually stop and think about something without it making a blob of stitches and then easily start again, or go as fast or slow with it as you want, up to the 3000 stitches per minute limit of the machine.

The motor is adjustable to add more power when needed (I need more technical terms on this point), it has the ability to sew thread that other machines can't (just wait 'till you see this!!), the machine is very quiet, and it's lightweight.

Overall, the cost point on this machine is much lower than the more established brands but, in my opinion, it does a better job.

Have you guessed yet? I've got one on order, can't wait to get it and set it up! Looks like I've got some re-arranging to do!

Hi,
I have an innova and am having a problem with it at present. It will turn on but after that both buttons on the handles will not work. I have not needle up down function at all. Does anyone have any ideas?

Hello Kerri,

You don't say how long you've had your Innova, but I know that the original buttons had problems and ABM replaced them if they are under warranty. If they aren't under warranty, you can still replace them, but at your cost.

Give tech support a call and they will walk you through it to determine if it's the actual buttons, or if it's another issue.

P.S. You don't have email enabled on your profile, so I was unable to contact you directly. I hope you get this message. Good luck!

Hi Connie,
Thankyou for your answer. I haven't had my innova long but purchased it from a dealer and am not sure how old it is. The buttons are working in the way that the RPM is increasing and decreasing but the needle up and down and the stitch regulation is not working. I am in Australia and do not have a technician within hundreds of kilometres, it is the weekend and I am part way through a quilt. So am a little frustrated at present.
It was working beautifully until using needle down the needle went into the fabric and seemed to delay on coming out and with this it tripped my electrical safety switch and when I turned it back on the current problem was evident.I have tried to put my email into my identity but unsure if have been successful. If it has not worked would you mind advising and I will post my email address.
Once again, thankyou, would greatly appreciate any futher ideas.
Kerri.

Hi Kerri,

There should be a 24/7 tech support phone number on the machine, but if there isn't, the one number on their website is:

1-888-997-8458

Option 1 will send you to the tech support number. Please don't hesitate to call, that is what they're there for, and they're experienced in working with people across the globe, even on the weekends!

As for the email on your profile, no, it's not showing up to email you yet, I'll see if I can find a link to send you.

Please call them right away!
